A cheerful snowman who never melts: a soft, plump white body, a wild tuft of orange hair, big button eyes with felt whites, a beaded smile, a little orange nose, bendy twig arms, a green elf hat with ears and a long knitted scarf (a crochet version works too). He sits steadily thanks to the weight inside – a sweet winter decoration and a lovely Christmas gift.
A crochet pattern by Olga Borisenko with step-by-step instructions and photos (16 pages). The scarf is knitted; the felted hair is optional.

• White yarn for the body, legs and head – I used Kamteks “Khlopok Travka” (65% cotton, 35% polyamide, 220 m / 100 g).

• Crochet hooks 2 mm (body, head) and 1 mm (nose, arms, eyes); knitting needles 3 mm for the scarf.
• Single-core copper PVC electrical wire, about 30 cm, 2–3 mm in diameter, and fabric tape 1 cm wide for the wire ends.
• Stuffing and glass pebbles (or similar) to add weight.
• Two black 4-hole buttons (9 mm) for the eyes, a little white felt, 10 small beads for the mouth, sewing and tapestry needles and strong thread for sculpting.
