A sweet fluffy Shih Tzu puppy in beige and white with a grey muzzle, soft floppy ears, big shiny eyes with eyelashes and a red collar. A wire frame inside lets the puppy stand up on its hind legs, peek into a basket or sit – a lovely gift for Shih Tzu owners and dog lovers.
A detailed crochet pattern by Tatiana Chirkova with step-by-step instructions and photos: the puppy is crocheted in moderately fluffy yarn, needle sculpted, tinted, brushed up and finished with a felting needle. The eyelids are made from suede strap or needle felted; the nose can be made from polymer clay (instructions included).

• Moderately fluffy yarn that can be brushed (e.g. Kamteks Khlopok Travka, 65% cotton, 35% polyamide, 220 m / 100 g): 65 g of beige, 13 g of white and 2 g of grey.
• A little dark brown or black smooth yarn (about 4 m) that crochets to the same gauge.
• Steel crochet hook 1.75 mm (approx. US steel 6, UK 3½).
• Sewing and tapestry needles; strong beige thread for needle sculpting; beige sewing thread; stuffing.
• Single core copper wire 1.5–2 mm, about 100 cm (40 inches), for the frame and a thin copper wire about 25 cm (10 inches) for the ears; fabric tape 1 cm wide.
• Two black beads or half beads for the eyes (7 mm) and thin strong black thread; a ready-made nose 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide – or black polymer clay and varnish; a little white polymer clay; false eyelashes.
