Fillimon is a lonely hairless cat of a noble Sphynx breed: long legs, big ears, blue eyes and a funny, touching face. He may not be handsome, but inside he is white and fluffy – and he is looking for a forever home.
A crochet pattern by Galina Astashova. A sturdy wire frame inside lets you pose him sitting, lying or stretching, with fishing-line whiskers and tiny claws.

• Yarn: I use Alize Lara (bulky, 100 g / 400 m (440 yards)), 1 skein; oddments of a darker yarn for the nose.
• Steel hook 1.3 mm (US 10, UK 5 1/2) – smaller than the yarn label suggests.
• About 200 cm (79 inches) of single-core copper PVC electrical wire, 3 mm, preferably white (1.5–2 times more with thicker yarn); fabric plaster tape 1–1.5 cm wide to join the wire.
• Stuffing; a little blue felt for the eyes; 2 bulging black shank buttons 0.5–1 cm for the eyes; 1 plastic bead for the Adam’s apple.
• Fishing line for the whiskers (about 100 cm / 40 inches).
• Sewing or tapestry needle and matching sewing thread; a small piece of Velcro to brush the cat.
• Ruler, scissors, sandpaper or nail file (for the claws) and wire cutters.
