• Any fingering cotton or acrylic yarn in red and white – I used Alize Diva and Vita Cotton Pelican, about half a ball each.
• Optional: one strand of fluorescent (glow in the dark) thread in a matching colour.
• Eyelash yarn for the base – I used Kamteks Cotton Grass (220 m / 100 g).
• Polyester wadding, white cotton sewing thread for the spots, dark brown dry pastel.
• 1.75 mm (US 4) crochet hook, scissors, a hard flat paintbrush.
