A friendly lucky dragon from a faraway magic country, where dragons bring happiness, joy and love. He is only 2754 years old and knows every fairy tale – with goggly eyes, pink wings and hands, a felted green crest, a warm red hat with ear flaps and a long scarf.
A crochet pattern by Galina Astashova with step-by-step instructions and photos. A wire frame inside lets you pose him; the hat and scarf are included. Please note: the green crest is needle-felted from wool, so you need basic felting skills.

MATERIALS AND TOOLS:
--------------------------------------
• Light fingering / 3 ply yarn (217 m / 50 g) – I used Vita Hawaii (55% cotton, 45% acrylic): green (main colour), about 250 m, and pink (hands and wings), about 50 m; some white yarn, a bit thinner, for the eyes.
• Hooks 1 mm (UK steel 6 1/2, US steel 12) for the dragon and 1.5 mm (US steel 8, UK steel 4 1/2) for the hat – much thinner than stated on the yarn label.
• Stuffing: hollow fibre or polyester; a wooden stick for stuffing hard-to-reach places.
• Plastic-covered copper wire for the frame (I used 150 cm / 60 inches); fabric-backed plaster tape 1–1.5 cm wide to cover the wire ends.
• 2 black beads (3–5 mm) for the pupils.
• Sewing thread in matching colours, a sewing needle and a tapestry needle for sculpting.
• Green wool for felting (the crest).
• Hat and scarf: red Vita Brilliant (fingering, 45% wool, 55% acrylic, 380 m / 100 g) used double, any white fuzzy DK yarn (65% cotton, 35% polyamide, 220 m / 100 g) and a 1.5 mm hook.
• Optional: paint for tinting (brown eye shadow, fabric acrylic paint, pastel, oil paint); small pebbles or polypropylene pellets to add weight to the tail.
