Basic is a funny, fluffy brown dog with long floppy ears, big googly eyes, a huge muzzle and a toothy grin – a real character who loves to climb, stretch and pose. About 23 cm tall, he makes a great gift for dog lovers and a smile on any shelf.
A crochet pattern by Svetlana Pertseva with step-by-step instructions, tips and photos. The dog is crocheted with fluffy yarn over a wire frame, so he can sit, stand and strike all sorts of poses; the teeth are white chip beads or – if you like – handmade from polymer clay. Not a toy for small children (wire, beads).

• Main yarn – I used Kamtex “Lotos Travka Stretch” (70% acrylic, 28% polyamide, 2% lycra, 80 m / 50 g), 100 g; mohair, angora or any fluffy yarn will do (have an extra ball if you crochet loosely or with a bigger hook).
• A little white acrylic or wool yarn (about 330–350 m / 100 g) for the eyes.
• Crochet hook 2–2.25 mm.
• Two black eyes 5–8 mm (eyes for toys or black beads).
• White irregular moonstone chip beads for the teeth – or make them from polymer clay and varnish (optional).
• Nichrome wire 1 mm (120 cm) and adhesive fabric tape about 1 cm wide.
• Stuffing and a long needle.
