Constantine is a funny, round little brown sparrow with huge googly eyes, a beige-tipped tail and wings like little fingers, standing on long wiry legs with big bird feet. Quirky, cheerful and full of character – a gift that makes everyone smile.
A crochet pattern by Svetlana Pertseva with step-by-step instructions, tips and photos. A wire frame lets him stand and pose. Please note: the pattern is for the BROWN bird only (the blue bird is not included), and the hat and scarf are NOT included.

• Main yarn – I used Kartopu “Nubuk” (22% acrylic, 78% polyamide, 550 m / 100 g): 50 g brown for the main parts, 5 g white for the whites of the eyes and 5 g beige for the feathers; any moderately fluffy yarn will do.
• Matching crochet hook – I used 1.75 mm.
• Two black beads or half beads for the pupils – I used 10–14 mm.
• Single core copper PVC electrical wire – about 200 cm (78.8 inches), 1.5 mm thick – and adhesive fabric tape about 1 cm wide for the wire ends.
• Transparent glue, stuffing and strong thread for needle sculpting.
