A funny, lovable baby monkey (orangutan) with a big round head, soulful bead eyes, a wide muzzle, a round tummy and wild tufts of orange hair. Long arms and legs with a wire frame inside let him sit, hug, suck his thumb or hang on to you – make him in sand, beige or any colour, with orange, yellow or blue hair. A cuddly companion that kids and adults will adore.
A crochet pattern by Svetlana Pertseva with step-by-step instructions and photos (24 pages). The hair is made from felting wool or yarn; felted eyelids are optional.

MATERIALS AND TOOLS:
--------------------------------------
• Any sand-coloured yarn – about 50 g (I recommend about 500 m / 100 g; wool, mohair or acrylic – thicker yarn makes a bigger toy).
• Matching crochet hook – I used 1.75 mm (US 6, UK 3½).
• Felting wool (I used orange) or orange yarn for the hair; felting wool and a felting needle for the eyelids (optional).
• Single-core copper electrical wire – I used 120 cm (47 inches), 1 mm in diameter – fabric tape 1 cm wide for the wire ends and pliers.
• Two black or brown beads or half beads for the eyes (I used 6 mm).
• Stuffing, a tapestry needle and any tinting material you like.
